November 13th to 16th, 2025

The PROMOTE Doctoral Candidate Kirubel Nigusu Jobre (DC1) will present his work in a poster titled “Prospective validation of diagnostic nomograms based on mass spectrometry-based urinary biomarkers to distinguish clinically significant prostate cancer: complementing MRI pathway” at the 17th European Multidisciplinary Congress on Urological Cancers (EMUC25), taking place in Prague, Czech Republic. This congress brings together experts in urology, oncology, and radiology to advance multidisciplinary approaches in cancer care, while providing an opportunity to share and discuss PROMOTE research with the wider scientific community.

November 9th to 11th, 2025

The first PROMOTE Annual Meeting will be hosted by MUI (Innsbruck, Austria). This milestone event will include the project’s mid-term review and a joint workshop focused on clinical aspects of prostate cancer progression. In addition, a session on complementary skills, including scientific writing and research ethics, will be held. PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates will have the opportunity to share updates, receive training, and strengthen collaboration across the network.

October 6th, 2025

Doctoral Candidates attended the final DisCo-I (101072828) meeting held at MOS (Hannover, Germany). The event featured research presentations, career development sessions, and strategic discussions. A joint panel explored synergies between the PROMOTE, DisCo-I, and PICKED networks, fostering collaboration across MSCA projects.

PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates attended the MULTIR (101136926, Horizon Cancer Mission) Hybrid Symposium “Advancing Oncology with AI – Innovative Tools, Better Outcomes” in Hannover, Germany. The event brought together experts from research, healthcare, industry, and patient advocacy to explore AI’s impact on cancer management. The PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates Kirubel Nigusu Jobre (DC1), Kilian Baritz (DC2), and Margarita Kondyli (DC7) presented a poster outlining the project’s objectives and engaged with stakeholders and the broader public to discuss recent advancements in prostate cancer research.

September 11th & 30th, 2025

PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates actively participated in a webinar series on “Interpreting OMICS Data in the Context of Biology,” organized by students of the MSCA network DisCo-I (101072828), with contributions from experts across the MSCA DN PICKED (101168626) and PROMOTE (101169245). The sessions explored how OMICS technologies enhance disease understanding and offered practical resources for data interpretation. 

Highlights included talks by Dr. Schanstra (INSERM) on the advantages and limitations of animal models “Omics to Improve Disease Understanding on the Molecular Biological Level: Lessons Learned from Animal Models”, Dr. Perco (Delta4) on useful OMICS interpretation tools “Useful Resources for Interpreting OMICS Data in the Molecular Biological Context”, and Dr. Zoidakis (NKUA, BRFAA) on molecular features in cancer progression “Elucidation of molecular features associated with progression of Monoclonal Gammopathies to Multiple Myeloma”.

May 5th, 2025 

PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates participated in a joint training session on intellectual property, featuring “Introduction to Intellectual Property and Patents” by Prof. Argiles (RD Néphrologie SAS) and “Basics of Intellectual Property Protection” by IP Attorney Mr. Akdogan. Organized in collaboration with the DisCo-I MSCA DN programme (101072828), the session provided essential insights into protecting research innovations.

  

February 14th, 2025

PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates joined the webinar “(Ethical) AI & Productivity Solutions for Research” by Mr. Biglari (Doctoral Candidate in the PICKED MSCA DN programme, 101168626). The session explored how AI tools can ethically enhance research workflows and efficiency.

 

January 23rd to 24th, 2025

The PROMOTE Kick-off meeting took place in Hannover, Germany, bringing together Doctoral Candidates and Principal Investigators for their first in-person gathering. The event served as a valuable platform to introduce the project's vision, strategic planning, and collaborative goals. Participants engaged in discussions around the scientific objectives and operational setup, laying the groundwork for effective teamwork and coordination of activities.

December 13th, 2024

PROMOTE Doctoral Candidates attended the talk “A Synthetic Data Generation Pipeline for High-Resolution Molecular Data” by Dr. Frantzi, organized in synergy with the PerMediK COST Action (CA21165). The session highlighted innovative approaches to creating synthetic datasets to enhance statistical power in clinical studies while preserving patient privacy in molecular analysis.
